At ~11:59 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a single-vehicle auto accident on School Road South between Hoy Farm Court and Trefoil Drive. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (4 firefighters including Sergeant 20), with Captain 20 going directly to the scene and Chief 20 to the station. Westmorland 911 dispatched the following stations to support Station 20: Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), and the Murrysville Police Department. Captain 20 was first on scene, established command, and found that the vehicle with 2 occupants had driven off the road into a tree, and the driver could not self-extricate from the vehicle. Station 610 units, Rescue 20, Rescue 78, and the Murrysville Police were next on scene; and Command 20 cancelled Rescue 64 since adequate fire/rescue resources were at the scene. Rescue 20's crew stabilized the vehicle and checked for any leaking hazardous fluids, while Station 610 EMS personnel removed the driver from the car. Both vehicle occupants were assessed by EMS personnel, and the driver was transported to a local hospital. Command 20 released Rescue 78, and Rescue 20 remained on scene until the vehicle was recovered by Wally's Transport. Upon clearance of the vehicle, Command 20 released Rescue 20 for return to service and station. |
