During the month of August, the Firefighters of the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company #1 (Station 20) answered 46 fire/rescue calls including a multiple alarm natural gas call within in the structure at the Monroeville Mircle Mile Shopping Center, for a total of 354 calls for 2024. The company continued with its 2024 Training Program, completing Phase I of Vehicle Rescue, provided at the station by the Westmoreland County Community College Fire School. The Vehicle Rescue Training was also attended by firefighters from Station 22 (Export), Station 30 (Delmont), Station 24 (Southwest Greensburg), and Station 9 (Level Green). Further Station 20 participated in the annual Mother of Sorrows Church Festival at the start of August. The Firefighters of Station 20 remain prepared to answer all Fire/Rescue Calls from the residents and businesses not only within our primary response district, but also within our mutual aid response districts.
