At ~ 5:01 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a 2-vehicle collision at the intersection of William Penn Highway and Old William Penn Highway (Wendy's Intersection). Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (3 firefighters), Squad 20 (2 firefighters), with 2 firefighters (including Assistant Chief 20) going directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the Murrysville Police and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One). Assistant Chief 20 arrived on scene, found the Murrysville Police in command, and 2 vehicles (box truck and automobile blocking the west bound lanes of the intersection, with both operators out of the vehicles, and vehicle debris and fluids on the roadway. Rescue 20 and Squad 20 arrived on scene, with the firefighters clearing the debris and fluid on the roadway, while Station 610 took both operators to a local trauma center for evaluation and treatment. Gombach Towing recovered both vehicles, and once cleared the Murrysville Police reopened the westbound traffic at the intersection. The Murrysville Police released all Station 20 units, and Assistant Chief 20 returned Rescue 20 and Squad 20 to service and station.
