On October 27th, Firefighters and EMS Personnel from Station 20 (Murrysville VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 78 (Sardis VFC) and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) along with representatives from the Franklin Regional School District and the construction company performing the Sloan School Rehabilitation Project; conducted Confined Space Rescue Training in the basement and crawl spaces of Sloan Elementary School. This multi-company training gave the firefighters and EMS personnel an opportunity to not only work on the procedures and techniques needed for potential confined space rescue scenarios within the interior of residential and commercial structures, but also work as a multi-company team at emergency incidents. Additional combined fire/rescue training for the Murrysville Area Stations is the planning stages.
