At 11:04 hours, Rescue 20 was activated to assist Rescue 64 with a two car T-bone type collission with entrapment on Route 22 at the Cozy Inn Cutoff. Director 610 arrived on scene and confirmed one entrapped in a four door sedan and requested a door pop and roof roll back. Chief 20 established the Route 22 command. Rescue 64 arrived with Chief 64 taking the command and immediately went to work stabilizing the vehicle. They then deployed multiple hydraulic lines for their Hurst spreader and cutter. The crew from Rescue 20 pulled an additional Hurst cutter and assisted in removing both passenger side doors as well as the roof. SOC 78 handled the landing zone on Route 22. The patient was packaged and transported to an awaiting LifeFlight medical helicopter for a short ride to a Pittsburgh trauma center. Rescue and Chief 20 were out approximately one hour.
