Today, the members of the department received notification that they have been recognized as a 75% Participating Organization by the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy and Office of the State Fire Commissioner through the Participating Department Recognition Program.
The purpose of this program is to recognize those organizations that support, promote, and encourage their emergency response personnel to voluntarily certify within the Commonwealth's Certification Program administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
The members that have been certified through the professional standards programs are certified at a minimum to Firefighter I or Hazardous Materials Operations or both. Thank you to all of the members that have taken a lot of time and effort over the past few years to become professionally certified and hope that your efforts are rewarded as we continue to strive for 100%
