At 2:48 PM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to set up a Helicopter Landing Zone at the Franklin Regional Schools Main Campus for an aerial ambulance. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (4 firefighters including Lieutenant 20) and Squad 20 (3 firefighters including Captain 20), with 3 additional firefighters (including Assistant Chief 20) at the station encase Rescue 20 was needed at the scene. Engine 20 was the first fire unit on scene, with Lieutenant 20 establishing LZ command, and ensured that the LZ was properly marked for the landing of the STAT MedEvac Helicopter. Murrysville Medic One EMS Personnel transferred the patient from the ambulance to the STAT MedEvac Helicopter Stretcher, and the STAT MedEvac loaded the patient on the helicopter. Upon departure of the helicopter, Lieutenant 20 returned Engine 20 and Squad 20 to service and station.
